About Sabrina K. Photography:

Welcome to my blog! I'm Sabrina Koogler, and I love photography! I always have my nose in a photography book, camera to my face, working on a challenge, workshop, or contest (in between sessions and processing!) becoming the best photographer I can be! I used to teach high school Spanish, and now I'm a stay-at-home mom to two adorable, rascally boys. Sabrina K Photography is my third baby, born of the need to document all of the milestones, wild times, and quiet moments of my children and others. My style is fun and natural. I seek to document the authentic "you" in my images. I offer custom portraiture in the Houston area, and I'm based in Pearland. I enjoy working with natural light and studio lighting--it's fun having a dual-sort of personality! And it certainly keeps things interesting!

    Parents to be {Pearland maternity photographer}

    Thursday, April 26th, 2012

    I have so much to say about this session but really no words express how much this baby is loved and what a miracle he is:

    Wonder if he’s going to get his Dad’s height?

    Love an adoring Daddy-to-be!

    She’s so radiant!!!

    Mom made this with Dad’s old Legos.

    Big LOVE. Big God. Big sky.

    Thanks again for sharing your family with me! I can’t wait to meet Mr. C in just a few weeks!!!!!

    Almost one {lifestyle family session}

    Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

    I met up with this sweet family in their home to capture some portraits of their family before their little man turned one. First family portraits! Yay! It was a lot of fun, and we even got their first baby–their furbaby–to participate as well!

    Really loved getting to play around and try out some new things and just work in their home and at the park. Thanks again!

    All he wanted to do was totally crawl away! Mom is a photog as well, so this might have something to do it!

    Can you tell he’s the apple of their eye? LOVED!

    Some mommy loves…

    “Mom and Dad are smooching again? Bo-ring!”

    A picnic with Mommy!

    This totally cracks me up! He really liked the bread! Me, too, who doesn’t like bread!

    There was a tiny bit of sharing going on with his big “sister”.

    And I just love this one of Mom and Dad.

    Thanks again for sharing your family with me!!!

    A lovely couple and their furbaby

    Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

    I don’t tend to do a lot of engagement photography (and these are certainly not their only engagement portraits–see below). Mostly because I am terrified of weddings. Not attending them, per se. I am a cryer. I love weddings. I love the love. And the cake.  It all comes down to the cake, really.

    No, I’m terrified of photographing weddings. I lack the nerves of steel it takes to document the event that took one woman and perhaps a whole team of relatives and planning professionals MONTHS to organize and make perfect down to the last detail. I admire wedding photographers. But I can’t handle the stress.

    But I do love working with people, and I met this lovely couple while doing an extended family session a few weeks back. Most of the session focused on the most adorable little girl ever.  But we took a few minutes to capture this couple with their furbaby. It was fun. Sometimes dogs take direction a little better than toddlers. I can see why some people really get into pet photography! (Again, not for me! I still prefer the two-legged babies!)

    Why these are not “engagement portraits”?  This couple was recently engaged and have just set a date for a lovely Austin wedding. But they already have some great engagement portraits! Men, take note: this quick-thinking guy thought to hire a photographer to document the proposal at a lighthouse in Martha’s Vineyard. Yep. Sounds pretty awesome to me! (And do any guys read my blog? I keep asking you to comment if you do? Perhaps not!) Definitely should be something to think about when you are ready to pop the big question!!!!

    Here are some faves:

    And playing with angles:

    It was great to meet you guys!  You are a gorgeous couple and you are going to have a fabulous wedding!

    PS: Now all I can think about is cake. Yum! Cake!!!
