Many of you know that I have cloth diapered to some extent with both boys. I really love cloth! The cute patterns! The reduced waste! The less impact on the environment. Happier trees. Cleaner water. Singing birds.
Well, maybe not all of that. But I do really love using cloth as much as I can!
I’ve always bought my diapers from a few great online stores and have been really happy with them but I just recently discovered that there is a Houston-based company that sells most of my favorite items as well: Nurtured Family! (click on the link to visit! yes, I know I need to get into the code and make my links work but oh! the time!). Shopping locally is SO totally important to our family. If we can eat at a locally-owned restaurant or shop at a locally-owned store as opposed to a big chain, we will do it. And I LOVE that I can support a local natural parenting store! It’s a bit of a drive from Pearland, but they were happy to ship my items to me (not sure where driving vs. shipping falls on the Carbon Footprint but for my sanity not driving with the kids sounded pretty okay!). I was thrilled to find my favorite diaper wipes solution and covers! (They also have a lot of babywearing gear and offer several classes. It’s a great one-stop shop for natural parenting gear!) One of the covers I wanted was not in stock so they “backordered” it–it shipped the next day! The owners were in touch with me throughout the order and it felt like working with friends immediately! What a wonderful way to shop! (And I got some great cute new dipes for my stash!)
Here’s my big and chunky boy wearing his new Bummis Super Brite patterns cover for his 10 month portrait session (and, yes, he is almost 11 months–I’m a bit behind!)
Vroom! Vroom!
I just can’t get enough of those chunky thighs! This is the only time when cellulite is absolutely too adorable for words!!!
But here is what working with a 10-month-old is really like:
Crawling AWAY from the camera.
SO. ..you get creative as far as what you PUT them into to trap them for a few nanoseconds:
This basket may make another appearance when the bluebonnets grow enough for me to attempt some wildflower portraits of this little busybody!
Check out Nurtured Family if you’re local!
