About Sabrina K. Photography:

Welcome to my blog! I'm Sabrina Koogler, and I love photography! I always have my nose in a photography book, camera to my face, working on a challenge, workshop, or contest (in between sessions and processing!) becoming the best photographer I can be! I used to teach high school Spanish, and now I'm a stay-at-home mom to two adorable, rascally boys. Sabrina K Photography is my third baby, born of the need to document all of the milestones, wild times, and quiet moments of my children and others. My style is fun and natural. I seek to document the authentic "you" in my images. I offer custom portraiture in the Houston area, and I'm based in Pearland. I enjoy working with natural light and studio lighting--it's fun having a dual-sort of personality! And it certainly keeps things interesting!

    Double the Fun

    Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

Okay, so I’m hoping I didn’t use the same title for my blog post when I last met up with these two cuties a while back. If so, my apologies! I can’t resist those old commercial slogans! And since these boys were definitely not “double trouble” because they were so well-behaved, I had to go with something else!

These guys–BOTH of them, they informed me!–are having their fifth birthdays soon! What fun! We met up and hung around on a train for a little bit. . .

Then we went to the park and climbed around on some trees.

And hung out with Mom and Dad a little…

And the finale was when they got their Harley’s out to ride!  Well, their Harley Davidson bicycles. And they rode around a little bit and showed me all of their tricks. It was such a fun session! Thanks so much! Can’t wait to show you the rest!

    Full Throttle!

    Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

It was a weekend full of boys–and boy oh boy was it a lot of fun!

I met this little guy–one of the bumper crop of babies born right around the same time as my little guy–and wow was he a bundle of energy! What a sweetie! I loved getting to see his really cute personality and all of his energy to move around all the props I brought to try to keep him in one place!

And I have to admit–it was just about the most darling cake smash ever! Cake was FLYING all over the place! I’ve been finding cake for the past couple of days in my gear. Totally worth it!

Here’s a sneak peek for Mom and Dad. Your little B is such a cutie! What a great first year!!!

(So glad I brought at least one balloon! It was INSANELY windy and it popped after about 20 seconds, but at least he liked it!!)

Mom and Dad shared that this little guy LOVES wheels and loves to spin them. I love getting to know those things about these little guys’ personalities! I like how he’s kicking the tires to his wagon–such a little man!

And then there was the cake smash! Oh, this was perhaps the most fun ever! I could not have planned the blue wall better. Loved this!

    Oh he’s just too cute!

I love his serious look while he’s “working” hard on the cake!

Thanks again for a great session! Can’t wait to have the rest ready for you! And happy first birthday!

    My Easter Bunnies

    Sunday, April 17th, 2011

This year Easter has both crept up slowly and arrived at lightning speed. I am one of those people who is never sick but this Spring is going to be the end of me. Strep throat, allergies, at least two different viruses. And that’s just me–not to mention the kids and their pinkeye, fevers, and viruses! I’m crying uncle! I need a break from all the sickness!

But I did sneak in some Easter pics of my little bunnies. They are not the best (I’m working out some kinks in studio and just don’t have the energy to make it right for “just” pics of my own kids (in 20 years I will want to slap myself for being so lazy, I know!) but they are THEM. And that, after all, is what I’m out to capture anyway!

I’m cheating–these were my little guy’s 11-month pictures. And I am certainly reusing them for Easter. Sometimes a gal’s gotta multitask!

He’s quite the charmer, isn’t he? It was a tight fit getting him into this get-up, which is, of course, his older brother’s. My “tiny” baby has turned out to be quite the chunk!

I bought these bunny ears when #1 was as old as #2. Took three years to get him to wear them without pulling them off! I discovered that belting out “Little Bunny Foo Foo” DOES cause significant camera shake. But it makes for a happy kid. LOL!

Don’t you just want to eat him up???  I can’t get enough of the foot in this one on the left. That is so *him*.  One-hundred percent Z-man. Quite the ham, of course!

Well, I hope this finds everyone gearing up for Easter just a week away. It’s a great time of year! (Even despite the pollen count!)

    Senior 2011: The shoes

    Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

Okay, so I worked with Mom like two lifetimes (or at least two children!) ago, and I knew that this rockin’ senior was seriously going to have some awesome shoe genes. And I was totally not disappointed!

I met this fabulous young lady in the Museum District and we did a whirlwind tour (pun intended–it was WINDY!!!) to rock out her senior pics. Seriously, there was a.lot.of.wind! Which made for some really awesome “hair blowing in the wind” shots!

Here’s just a sneak peek. She mentioned red shoes and I just about died! While I may not *wear* terribly cute and fashionable and excruciatingly painful shoes myself, that does not mean I don’t have an appreciation for them!

Clearly from all the happy dancing and shrieking in delight I did during the session this is just a tiny sampling. We had fun. I had fun. It was a lot of fun. I love working with seniors. (And this is when my husband steps in and says in his best man voice: “It’s not rocket science, Sabrina. You did teach high school and liked it.” Then he shakes his head.)

I can’t wait to show the rest!  C, it was a delight! You were really fun to hang out with!
