Well, I am terrible at anniversaries. I can barely remember my own. Well, not that it’s going to happen. I mean, I know we got married in August. I mean, I get the date wrong. And birthdays. Don’t even get me started on birthdays. I am terrible with dates.
So, true to form, I missed my one year anniversary on this blog. yippee. One year. I had some really big hopes that at this point I would be a programming extraordinaire and would be scoffing at all the other photographers who had to go out and buy templates instead of building their own. And I made some great progress on this blog. Last August. And since then I have just updated things as they needed updating and that’s about all.
But my motto this fall is to STOP BEATING MYSELF UP ABOUT IT, ALREADY! So that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
August 25 was my first post last year on the blog. At least I’m celebrating just a few days late! Of course, I’ll celebrate with some photos.
Here’s my new not-so-mellow-yellow background. I am considering joining a support group for backdrops anonymous. I really can’t seem to have enough colors!
Not so amused with the camera. Or being a guinea pig. Unless it involves buying a guinea pig. We’ve started that request already.
A bit of wonder. I think I said something silly about Star Wars.
Thoughtful. Playing around with my black and white conversion a little. Change is good.
Too cool for school. Are you reverse-engineering my lighting set-up from the shades? Ack! You can see my messy house, even! I would have planned it out differently if I realized how reflective they are! LOL! Best $1.25 I’ve spent in a while–both boys love these!
Distinguished. It’s just how you roll when you’re heading to Pre-to-the-K.
Love. this. His posture. The backpack. Right down to the hair across his eye. That’s my little man!
And this jump is what inspired the yellow background purchase, I think. I had it all in my head. Needs a little work in reality, though! But it was a fun first attempt!

Nope. You just don’t get much cuter than this!
This sweet boy has a Winnie the Pooh theme in his nursery, so Mom brought along a special outfit and blanket. Love his eyes.
Another special outfit. I like his serious face here!
I think this little one is very ready to be on the move! I saw lots of pre-crawling going on! Watch out, Mom, here he comes!
I’m not going to pretend to be all neutral–I was thrilled to see Mom brought along a little burnt orange! Hook ‘em, Horns! He was having fun getting wrapped up in the furry!
And here it is: toes. You know I can’t get through a darling baby session. Or a kid session. Or a family session. (Maybe I have some sort of obsession?). Without some toes. Sweet, Longhorn baby toes!
I just love how he’s studying the ball here. Ready to run out for a touchdown!
He’s adorable, isn’t he? He makes you want to just smooch him, doesn’t he? Oh, baby love!
Little Man was a bit stingy with the smiles. But what a trooper! Crazy lady with the camera and the flashy thingies! Oh but what a doll! He was such a charmer!
Sweet baby feet. Love those little toes! Did I mention wanting to smooch?
And oh yes! There are gorgeous siblings as well! This little guy is SO loved! He has a great big brother and sister watching out for him and loving on him. Lucky little guy! These two were troopers as well, sharing their last Saturday night of the summer capturing family portraits!
And, okay, I’m totally teasing with just this one of the whole gorgeous family.
Dad was working some serious baby magic that night. It was a lot of fun watching them interact. What a loved little dude! What a great family! Oh, what I learned about my lack of knowledge of Justin Beiber! I’ll study up on the Beebs for next time, I promise!
Grabbing toes! Ready to crawl! Where did the baby go? This guy’s on the move!
I loved seeing all his faces. Think that is his game face? Or his lion roar? His Texan’s cheer?
The serious look and sweet baby feet.
Sitting up all on his own. Mom made him practice all week for me! He got an A+!
And a last one because I loved him in the rocking chair. Although he had two spotters making sure he didn’t launch himself out of there! Boys!!!
