About Sabrina K. Photography:

Welcome to my blog! I'm Sabrina Koogler, and I love photography! I always have my nose in a photography book, camera to my face, working on a challenge, workshop, or contest (in between sessions and processing!) becoming the best photographer I can be! I used to teach high school Spanish, and now I'm a stay-at-home mom to two adorable, rascally boys. Sabrina K Photography is my third baby, born of the need to document all of the milestones, wild times, and quiet moments of my children and others. My style is fun and natural. I seek to document the authentic "you" in my images. I offer custom portraiture in the Houston area, and I'm based in Pearland. I enjoy working with natural light and studio lighting--it's fun having a dual-sort of personality! And it certainly keeps things interesting!

Our own Christmas cheer

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

So the Christmas portraits in our house this year. . .well, it’s a long story. Let’s just say I now have a new perspective on what my clients go through.

I was going to say more, but I’m going to leave it at that.

Ahem…

I did get a few shots of my kids before giving up entirely. We had some technical difficulty. There was no reshoot. Cutting my losses.

Here’s my dapper dude. He’s actually been willing to pose for me lately. It’s a new phase. I’ll take it!

And here are his muscles. ..

And his handsome smile. ..

And then we have number two. ..

Who would only sit while holding a car.

I love them laughing together.

And laughing at my assistant (AKA “Daddy”).

And the “money” shot for the Christmas card.

Then I pushed my luck to get “just one more”. Lollipop and all.

My model adjusting his tie for me.

I love this little rocking chair. But it takes quite a bit of abuse!

The cheesiest cheese-smile yet. He gave us this one for his pics with Santa. Cheese dog!

Merry Christmas from our house to yours!

Mr. B, 10 days new

Right at the end of the Christmas rush I met this adorable little guy and his family. It was such a treat to get to work with them!

This has been one of my favorite newborn sessions lately. Mostly because little man here was super alert and awake and I promise you he would turn and look at the camera if I said his name. No joke!

Well, it’s getting late and I have a huge share here for you so let me get down to business! Enjoy!

This was a pretty nice way to start off!  Hello world. How are you?

Love those sweet fingers.

Wrap you up like a little egg? Don’t mind if I do!

Perhaps the sweetest little toes ever.

Sweet little aviator hat.

He’s such a hoot!

He was just the absolutely most perfectly squishy little guy.

This hat is too adorable–and one of Mom’s Etsy finds. It was nice to talk about my love of all things Etsy. And Pinterest!!! During the session!

This was a new little hat I got recently from a favorite vendor. I really like this little gnome/elf/pixie style. And if anyone can explain the difference between an elf, gnome, and a pixie I would love to hear it!

This was one of my absolute favorites from the session. Just love how he is so awake and checking it all out.

He’s such a doll. Love!

Here was big sister looking for Elmo in the lens. She was such a trooper for a long session!

What a great big sister! Lots of sweet kisses for little brother!

It was such a treat to work with the whole family as well.

See! More sweet kisses!

Before you ask, no, this is not my rug. It’s the clients’ but I want one!!!

Love these sweet toes together. Really one of my favorite images from the session.

And leaving you with one I took while setting up. Love this completely unposed shot of Dad reading to his daughter.

Thanks again for letting me into your home and sharing your family with me! Enjoyed the session tremendously! Merry Christmas!!!

Christmastime is here. . .

Happiness and cheer. ..

okay, so those are all the words I know to the Charlie Brown Christmas song, even after hearing it a bazillion times.

I love how these cute cousins just absolutely sparkle in greys and blacks. In fact, I love their wardrobe so much, my boys might just look a bit like this next year. ;-)   (Yes, I am already planning NEXT Christmas’ outfits. Truly, I should be a little more concerned about this year’s considering a certain 4-year-old wore his Christmas shirt to school and painted without a smock and Shout did NOT get the stains out! LOL!)

But here are some adorable kiddos brimming with personality and Christmas cheer!

Methinks this one is a little heartbreaker.

His sister is just too cute as well…

Her dress was breathtaking. Think they make that in my size???

And a sweet cousin met them to round out the day’s cuteness:

That tie just cracks me up! I love it!

And the whole gang together. . .

Finally these two sweethearts again. Love the expression!

Thanks again for a fun holiday session! Can’t wait to see you all again!!

Christmas family

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

So I’m catching up on the blogging now that life is a smidge less insane and Christmas cards have gone out. It’s a nutso time of year but I really like it!

Anyway. .. I was SO thrilled to work with this family (er, last month!)!  I ran into Mom at Target and it was a big ol’ reunion since I’ve been out of town, had a kid, her baby is no longer an infant–you know the deal! The last time I worked with the family little miss was three months old.  A lot of time has passed! It was so great to run into Mom and schedule these!

I love this image of the family.

Mom mentioned that little sister might be a little shy in front of the camera. But I’ll let you be the judge of that!

Sweet sisters here.

And I think this is my all-time new favorite studio image. Shy? Maybe not today! She was loving the camera!

And one more of Mom and her girls:

I’m always amazed at how much we can get done in a mini-session. I mean, really? 30 minutes flies by but we can still do plenty!

Thanks again for coming in! Loved working with you again! And hopefully not so much time will pass before our next session!
